Welcome to the King Charles III Pub in Sporle, affectionately known as The KC3!

Nestled in the heart of the historic Norfolk village of Sporle, just a stone’s throw from the ancient Peddars Way, The King Charles III is more than just a pub—it is the beating heart of our community.

Our doors have been open to weary travellers and thirsty locals for centuries. Steeped in history, this historic building first served the village as The Chequers way back in the 1700s. Over the generations, it has evolved, previously known to many as The Peddars Inn and The Squirrels Drey.   

In December 2022 the pub reopened after a period of closure as The King Charles III, making history as the very first pub in England and in fact the World to be named in honour of the new monarch. We embrace that sense of classic British heritage, marrying centuries of local history with a vibrant, modern spirit.

When the Norfolk weather turns crisp, our crackling log burner provides the perfect backdrop for good conversation, a quiet drink, or settling into a comfortable corner.
